Guwahati : Assam’s Environment and Forest department suspended Jitendra Kumar, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Goalpara Division. The suspension follows multiple cases against him. A notification stated the immediate suspension to allow a thorough investigation. The next senior officer will temporarily take on the Divisional Forest Officer role during the suspension.
The suspension comes in response to several cases registered against him, signaling a serious concern regarding his conduct and performance. In a notification issued by the department, it was stated that the suspension takes effect immediately. The decision aims to ensure a thorough investigation into the allegations leveled against Jitendra Kumar. During the period of suspension, the responsibilities of the Divisional Forest Officer position in Goalpara Division will be assumed by the next senior officer.
