Guwahati, May 22: A young girl was found hanging in Guwahati on May 22. The incident took place at a Girls Hostel on Sarvodaya Path, opposite Rajiv Bhawan. The deceased has been identified as an 18-year-old student enrolled in medical coaching. She hails from Kokrajhar.
Talking to The Guwahati, city police said that Bhangarh police were informed about the incident and reached the spot. ”The girl’s parents discovered her body hanging in the hostel’s bathroom. The body has been sent for postmortem, and an investigation is currently underway. The reason behind the suspected suicide remains unknown,” police added. Additionally, an earlier incident was reported today where a girl from Cachar district committed suicide by jumping into a river.
