Guwahati: An East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) team from Dispur Police Station swiftly acted on a kidnapping report and successfully rescued a victim within hours from Tribeni Path, Guwahati.
The operation was launched following a report that the victim had been abducted near Pratiksha Hospital, Borbari, with the kidnappers demanding a ransom of ₹15–20 lakh.
Acting promptly, police traced the culprits and rescued the victim safely. Eight persons were apprehended from two vehicles.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Biswajit Doley
- Injamul Huque
- Rohan Ali
- Mohan Borah
- Nitu Ahmed
- Chinmay Dev
- Riyaj Ahmed
- Biraj Balla Kalita
Police also recovered weapons, pepper sprays, mobile phones, and documents from their possession.
Further investigation is underway, and legal action has been initiated against all accused.
