CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Unveils Gandhi Statue at Kamrup DC Office, Distributes Cheques to Land Donors

Amingaon: In a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled a statue of the Father of the Nation at the DC Office in Amingaon, Kamrup on Monday. He also offered floral tributes to Gandhi, calling the statue a lasting reminder of his ideals and values.

Speaking at the event, CM Sarma said, “It is an honour to unveil this statue of Mahatma Gandhi. It will inspire all of us to serve the nation with dedication.”

As part of his visit to Kamrup district, the Chief Minister also gifted an E-rickshaw to Ananga Das of Geruwa, who despite being physically challenged, completed his graduation in 2022. CM Sarma appreciated UCO Bank for donating the rickshaw under its CSR initiative.

Later, CM Sarma handed over compensation cheques to 26 landowners who voluntarily gave their land for the upcoming Judicial Township at Rangmahal. The project will be built on 129 bighas of land and will include all modern facilities.

Ministers Ranjeet Kumar Dass and Chandra Mohan Patowary, along with MLAs Bhabesh Kalita, Diganta Kalita, and other dignitaries, attended the event.
