Guwahati: Nitin Nabin, the newly elected National Working President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), will visit Assam on 26 December for a two-day tour.
During his visit, he will take part in the BJP Assam State Executive Meeting, at Kalakshetra Auditorium, Guwahati on 26 and 27 December.
Speaking to the media, BJP Assam Pradesh Vice-President Manoj Baruah said that the meeting will discuss the current political situation in Assam, review the party’s organisational work, and plan strategies for upcoming elections. He added that the meeting will play an important role in preparing the party for the 2026 Assam Legislative Assembly elections.
Several senior BJP leaders will attend the meeting, including National Organisation General Secretary B. L. Santosh, BJP National Vice-President and Assam Election In-Charge Baijayant Jay Panda, Co-In-Charge Sunil Sharma, North East Coordinator Sambit Patra, State In-Charge Harish Dwivedi, National Secretary Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Rituraj Sharma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, and Pabitra Margherita.
The meeting will also feature a special address by Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and will be chaired by BJP Assam President Dilip Saikia.
All BJP MPs, MLAs, state office-bearers, executive members, national and state council members, and around 800 party workers will attend the meeting.
The State Executive Meeting will begin at 2:30 PM on 26 December and end at 2:30 PM on 27 December. Meetings of the State Election Management Committee and the Manifesto Drafting Committee will also be held on 27 December.
Later in the evening, the BJP Assam Pradesh Core Committee will meet in the presence of Nitin Nabin.
Earlier on 26 December, BJP workers and supporters will give a warm welcome to Nitin Nabin at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati, on his first visit to Assam after taking charge as National Working President.
