Basistha Police Solve Kanaklata Path Burglary Case, Arrest Three Thieves and Recover Stolen Items

Guwahati: The Basistha Police team in Guwahati has successfully cracked the Kanaklata Path burglary case after a quick investigation using technology and local inputs. Acting swiftly, the EGPD team raided a house in Kerakuchi near the Hockey Stadium and arrested three youths involved in the theft. The arrested accused are Sofial Ali (21) from Dhubri, Rupchand Ali (21) from Goroimari, and Ashadul Khan (21) from Hatigaon.

During the raid, police recovered many stolen items, including brass glasses, a gold-coloured flower-shaped tealight holder, a bell metal bota, a traditional Nepali kukri, 16 silver plates, a brass bowl, a pressure cooker, several kitchen utensils, a welding machine, two water pumps, a grinder, 30 water taps, 5 kg of copper wire, and even a cycle rickshaw used in the crime. Police also seized a Redmi Xiaomi mobile phone from the accused.

All three confessed to the burglary and admitted to their involvement in several thefts across Guwahati. The investigation is still ongoing to trace more crimes connected to the trio.
