Guwahati: Assamese actor Nandini Kashyap appeared before Dispur Police on Monday in connection with a hit-and-run case that took place in Guwahati’s Dakhingaon area late Friday night. She was summoned after a video went viral on social media, showing her in a heated argument with locals shortly after the accident.
The incident left Samiul Haque, a student who was working part-time installing streetlights, severely injured. He suffered multiple fractures in both his hands and legs, along with serious head injuries. Samiul is currently in the ICU at a Hospital.
Initial reports allege that Nandini Kashyap was driving the car involved in the accident. Witnesses have accused her of speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol. Concerns have also been raised over her failure to stop and help the victim after the collision.
Police are continuing their investigation, and statements from eyewitnesses and video footage are being reviewed to determine the exact sequence of events.
