Assam down town University Celebrates Pre-Diwali

Guwahati: Assam down town University celebrated its Pre-Diwali Festival with great enthusiasm, turning the campus into a lively space filled with lights, colours, and festive joy.

The event featured the popular Campus Bazaar Stalls, where students displayed handmade crafts, festive décor, and traditional food items. These stalls highlighted the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of the students.

Adding to the festive charm, melas from the University’s adopted villages showcased Assam’s rich rural culture and craftsmanship. A special attraction was the stall from Puranbari Village, where the University is implementing a DST-funded project. Visitors supported the villagers by purchasing their locally produced goods, promoting sustainable livelihoods.

The celebration also included a Rangoli Competition, where students created colourful and artistic designs that symbolized unity, joy, and the triumph of light over darkness.

The Pre-Diwali celebration reflected the University’s commitment to community engagement, creativity, and holistic development, bringing together students, faculty, and local communities in the true spirit of Diwali.
