Guwahati: A TV journalist from Nagaland-based Hornbill TV was shot in Manipur’s Senapati district while covering a flower festival on Saturday. The injured journalist, Deep Saikia from Assam’s Jorhat district, suffered gunshot wounds in his leg and armpit during the incident at Laii village on Saturday evening.
Police said the motive behind the attack is under investigation.
Saikia is likely to be shifted to Guwahati for advanced treatment as the bullets are yet to be removed.
