Guwahati: Assam Police seized 364 grams of heroin during a special Naka operation on NH-37 near Rishi Marbles on Monday. Acting on reliable intelligence, ACP Azara led the operation with support from OC Jalukbari, IC Maligaon, and the SOG team under the supervision of DCP WGPD.
The police intercepted a 1109 truck (Registration No. AS-18AC-6959) and conducted a detailed search. Officers recovered 32 soap cases containing heroin from the vehicle.
Details of the Apprehended Individuals:
- Driver: Mofizul Ali (26), S/O Late Jamuddin Ali, Jiyaguri, Kokrajhar PS, Dist. Kokrajhar, Assam.
- Handyman: Surat Jamal (30), S/O Sikkim Ali, Chirukuta, Dist. Dhubri, Assam.
The police have initiated necessary follow-up actions against the apprehended individuals, reinforcing their commitment to combating drug trafficking in the region.
