AdtU Hosts Roundtable on Digital Transformation in University Administration
Guwahati: Assam down town University on Thursday organised a high-level roundtable discussion titled “Reimagining University Administration in the Age of Digital Transformation” at its campus. The event brought together leading educationists, policymakers and university administrators to discuss how digital tools are reshaping higher education governance.
The programme began with the arrival of dignitaries followed by a networking lunch, creating a collaborative environment for meaningful dialogue.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Narayan Chandra Talukdar welcomed the participants and highlighted the university’s focus on innovation, academic excellence, and administrative advancement.
A special address was presented by Mr. R. Karthik, Director General, CIPU, who stressed the role of digital systems in improving transparency, accountability, and efficiency in university operations.
The session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) D. P. Agrawal, Distinguished Member of the CIPU Board of Advisors and Former UPSC Chairman. Setting the tone for the discussion, he remarked:
“Universities stand at the crossroads of change today. Digital transformation is not just about technology — it is about rethinking systems, empowering people, and building institutions that are adaptive, data-driven, and inclusive.”
A 125-minute roundtable session followed, featuring diverse views from academicians, government representatives and digital education experts. Key themes included the use of AI in university governance, data-based decision making, boosting student engagement, and improving administrative efficiency through digital tools.
The event concluded with Prof. (Dr.) Nitul Jyoti Das, Deputy Registrar (Academics) offering the vote of thanks. He appreciated the contributions of all participants and reaffirmed AdtU’s commitment to leading with innovation, inclusivity and forward-thinking educational practices.
