Guwahati: The ACA Stadium is set to make history on November 22 when it hosts its first Test match, featuring India and South Africa. Cricket fans across the Northeast are eagerly waiting for this landmark moment.
The toss will take place at 8:30 am, followed by the national anthems. The match will begin at 9 am. Before play starts, both team captains will sign special portraits of the stadium. A specially crafted gold coin, made for this historic match, will be presented to the two skippers.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia will ring the traditional bell to officially start the game. During the first break, author Sachin Bajaj will release his book on the Ranji Trophy titled Plucky 13. At lunchtime, 10 young cricketers will receive kit bags in a short ceremony.
Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma will attend the event.
BCCI President Mithun Manhas, Joint Secretary Prabhtej Bhatia and IPL Governing Council member Mamon Mazumdar will also be present to witness the historic match.
The first Test at ACA Stadium marks a major milestone for Assam cricket, placing the venue on the world cricket map.
