Guwahati: Assam down town University (AdtU) organized the second edition of EduElevate – Northeast Educators Conclave at Radisson Blu, Guwahati. The event brought together education leaders, teachers, industry experts and policymakers to discuss student well-being and the future of higher education.

The conclave began with a formal inaugural ceremony and lighting of the lamp by dignitaries.

Focus on Student Mental Health

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Dimpy Mahanta, Associate Professor and Head of Psychology at Cotton University. She highlighted the important role institutions play in supporting student mental health.

The first panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Manjusha Deka Saikia of AdtU, focused on how schools and colleges can create safe and supportive environments for students.
The panel included:

  • Prof. Saswati Choudhury, OKD Institute of Social Change and Development
  • Dr. Mythili Hazarika, Clinical Psychologist, GMCH
  • Arup Kumar Baishya, Social Entrepreneur
  • Sandeep Gulia, LEAD Group

Experts stressed the need for awareness, professional guidance, kind learning spaces, and community support to help students thrive.

Preparing Students for Future Jobs

The second panel, moderated by Dr. Sunandan Baruah of AdtU, discussed how India’s workforce must be prepared for AI-based job markets.
Panelists included leaders from College Vidya, ICA EduSkills, EduVerse, Meritto and L&T.

They spoke about the need for:

  • Technology-based learning
  • AI and digital skills
  • Strong industry partnerships
  • Training that helps students become job-ready and supports the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat

EduElevate Awards 2025 Announced

The conclave ended with the presentation of the AdtU Excellence Awards. The winners were:

  1. EduElevate School of the Year (₹1,00,000)
    PM SHRI Nilbagan Model HS School, Hojai
  2. EduElevate Teacher of the Year (₹50,000)
    Prasenjit Sarma, Barpeta
  3. EduElevate Emerging School Award
    Vidya: The Living School, Dhemaji

EduElevate 2.0 highlighted Assam down town University’s commitment to building a strong educational ecosystem in the Northeast—one that supports student well-being, encourages innovation, and prepares young people for future careers.
