Guwahati: Four schoolgirls who had gone missing from Guwahati were rescued by Guwahati Police from Howrah in West Bengal following a swift investigation.

The girls, all students of Beltola Majhipara Middle English School and residents of the Beharbari area, had left their homes for school on Monday morning but did not return. Their disappearance created concern among family members and residents of the Basistha area.

According to reports, the students had left for school at around 8 am as part of their regular routine. When they failed to return home by evening, their families began searching for them and later lodged complaints at Basistha Police Station.

After receiving the complaints, Guwahati Police launched an investigation and started efforts to trace the missing girls. During the operation, police tracked their location to Howrah in West Bengal and successfully rescued all four girls.

The girls are safe and are being brought back to Guwahati. Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances that led to their disappearance and whether anyone else was involved in the incident.

The successful rescue has brought relief to the families and residents of the locality, who had been anxiously waiting for news about the missing students.
