Workshop Boosts Skills for PM Shri School Teachers in Assam

Guwahati: The State Nodal Agency of PM Shri Assam successfully conducted a three-day Capacity Building Workshop for Resource Persons from Assam and Meghalaya. The workshop, held from July 1 to July 3, 2024, at Don Bosco Institute in Guwahati, aimed to train teachers and officials on activities for PM Shri Schools of Assam.

The workshop focused on modern teaching strategies, technology integration, and professional development to improve educational standards in PM Shri Schools. It was inaugurated by the Officer on Special Duty, Samagra Shiksha, Assam. Sanjoy Dutta, ACS, Executive Director of Samagra Shiksha, Assam, awarded certificates to all participants and encouraged teachers to enhance PM Shri Schools, setting benchmarks for other schools.

The workshop covered themes such as NEP 2020, leadership skills, self-defense programs, mental well-being, vocational education, and digital learning. National experts, including Prof. F.G. Dkhar from NERIE, Dr. Nitu Sharma from NIEPA, Dr. Gulfam from NCERT, Dipankor Bhattacharya from Microsoft, and Pramila Sharma from Expression India, Sikkim, conducted the training sessions along with officials from Samagra Shiksha, Assam.

A total of 66 participants from Assam and four participants from Meghalaya attended the workshop at DBI Institute. Additionally, around 4,402 teachers from PM Shri Schools joined the training via live streaming on Samagra Shiksha, Assam’s social media handles. The training included interactive sessions and various activities.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, approved 266 PM Shri schools in Assam in the first phase for 2023-24. For 2024-25, another 116 schools under PM Shri have been approved to provide quality education to students in Assam.
