Transport Department Launches Free Driving Training for Students

Guwahati: The Kamrup Metropolitan District Transport Department has launched a free driving training program for 2,907 students. These students received scooters under the Pragyan Bharati scheme from the Assam Education Department after passing higher secondary with distinction.

The inaugural function was held at the office premises of the City District Transport Officer. Gautam Das, Deputy Transport Commissioner and DTO (R&L) Kamrupu Metro explained the purpose of the training program. He encouraged the meritorious students to commit to maintaining a safe transportation system in the state, ensuring adherence to traffic laws and avoiding fines.

Government officials, police personnel, and other renowned individuals were present at the occasion.
