Guwahati: The 11th International Yoga Day was observed at the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati on 21st June 2025, under the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”
To mark the occasion, Biman Kumar Nath and Banashree Das, Yoga Instructors from the District Sports Office, Kamrup Metropolitan and Indian Yoga Culture & Yoga Therapy Centre, Guwahati, were invited to demonstrate various yoga asanas. All officials of the Centre actively participated in the session, embracing the spirit of wellness and unity.
K.N. Mohan, Scientist-G and Head of RMC Guwahati, highlighted the vital role of yoga in improving both physical and mental health. Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, Scientist-F, appreciated the enthusiastic participation and encouraged everyone to promote yoga and meditation in daily life.
Chinmoyee Gogoi, Meteorologist-A, welcomed the instructors and thanked the staff for coming together to uphold the timeless tradition of yoga for inner strength and peace. Doli Haloi, Meteorologist-B, expressed gratitude to all participants and urged everyone to adopt yoga and meditation as part of their regular lifestyle.
The event also included a Heartfulness Meditation session led by C. Amarnath, Scientist-D and certified trainer of the Raja Yoga System of Heartfulness Meditation, promoting inner peace and holistic well-being. Yarva Suma guided a Heartfulness Relaxation technique to help calm the body and mind.
