Purabi Dairy Celebrates Pre-Magh Bihu

Guwahati: Northeast India’s largest dairy cooperative, Purabi Dairy, celebrated pre-Magh Bihu at its dairy processing plant in Panjabari, Guwahati, on Saturday. During the event, Purabi Dairy announced its plans to strengthen Assam’s dairy sector in 2025.

Addressing the media, WAMUL Managing Director Sameer Kumar Parida highlighted the cooperative’s efforts to empower farmers, improve milk production, and deliver quality products. He thanked the Assam government for key Cabinet decisions on January 10, which approved two new milk processing plants in Jorhat and Dibrugarh, each with a capacity of 100 TLPD and worth Rs 150 crore. Similar plants are planned for Dhemaji and Cachar.

Purabi Dairy’s plans for 2025 include expanding milk procurement networks, introducing new products, and building farmer capacity. The event showcased the cooperative’s diverse product range and featured cultural performances, adding to the festive spirit.
