Parthasarathi Mahanta Honored with ‘Sahosi’ Award

Guwahati: The All Tai Ahom Students’ Union has given the ‘Sahosi’ (Bravery) Award to Parthasarathi Mahanta, IPS, the Chief of Assam Police STF. This award is in memory of Martyr Dimbeswar Gogoi, who gave his life for the nation.

The award was given on Anti-Terror Day, a day to stand against terrorism. The Tai Ahom community, which ruled Assam for 600 years, is famous for stopping the Mughals from taking over Assam, even after 17 attacks.

Parthasarathi Mahanta is now IGP of the Special Task Force and other important departments. He was honored for his hard work in fighting against insurgents, stopping illegal activities, and controlling drug trafficking in Assam.
