Guwahati: The sequel to the classic 1983 Assamese film Kokadeuta Nati Aaru Hati will release in cinemas on November 21, 2025.
Produced under NC Production and backed by Pride East Entertainment, the film is directed by Biswajeet Bora. Riniki Bhuyan Sarma has produced the film, while Syed Zarir Hussain serves as the executive producer. This is the fourth Assamese film from Pride East Entertainment after Ramdhenu, Porichoy and Bakul Phulor Dore.
Written by Bhaskar Hazarika, the film tells the story of Prasanta Saikia, a respected elder from Kampur. He remembers his childhood companion, the elephant Brikodor. When his son calls from the United States asking him to guide his stubborn grandson Ankur, Prasanta uses the tales of Brikodor to teach Ankur values of responsibility and kindness. The elephant becomes a symbol of memory, freedom, and family bonds.
The film stars Pranjal Saikia, Tapan Das, Jatin Bora, Utpal Das, Adil Hussain, Prostuti Parasar, Pretty Kongana, Debajeet Mazumder, Jolly Laskar, Jeanette Bay, Binod Lal Das, Nirav Moon Sharma, Siddhanta Kalita, Pankaj Mahanta, Shreya Barthakur, Apurba Goswami and Rajkumar Chutiya.
Pradip Doimary handled the cinematography, Sweta Venkat did the editing, and Anjan Akash Barua worked as art director. The film features four songs sung by Tarali Sharma, Dipen Barua, Joy Barua and Arupjyoti Barua, with music by Ajay Singh. Pankaj Ingti and Sherif choreographed the dance sequences, and Amrit Preetam designed the sound.
The original Kokadeuta Nati Aaru Hati, directed by Nip Barua, is a beloved Assamese classic. It also featured current Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma as a child artist in a memorable elephant-riding scene. However, he does not appear in the sequel.
With a strong cast, high production value, and a heartwarming story, Kokadeuta Nati Aaru Hati-2 is set to be one of the biggest Assamese releases of 2025.
