Guwahati: The Army Recruiting Office (ARO) Narangi conducted an outreach programme at the Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-75) of the 1 Assam Battalion NCC, held at Don Bosco School, Guwahati.
The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of 435 NCC cadets — 145 girls and 290 boys — who participated in an interactive session designed to educate them about career opportunities in the Indian Army.
Senior military officials, including Brig AK Borah, VSM, Commander of NCC Group HQ Guwahati, and Col Manohar Deshmukh, Commanding Officer of 1 Assam Battalion NCC, were present at the event.
The ARO Narangi team delivered a powerful motivational lecture covering key topics such as:
- Life in the Indian Army and its operational experiences
- Officer entry schemes and Agniveer recruitment
- Eligibility criteria for technical entries
- Bonus marks for NCC, ITI, and sports backgrounds
- Guidance on the Common Entrance Exam (CEE), recruitment rallies, and the Join Indian Army (JIA) portal
- Anti-touting and fraud prevention tips
- Career opportunities for women in the armed forces
The session aimed to clear doubts, inspire confidence, and encourage cadets to pursue a disciplined and honourable career serving the nation.
The programme received a positive response and was seen as a significant step in connecting with youth and building awareness about the Indian Army’s values, career paths, and contribution to national service.
