Kokrajhar: A powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast late Thursday night rocked the railway track between Kokrajhar and Salakati stations in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, triggering panic among passengers and disrupting train movement in the region.
According to initial reports, the explosion occurred about five kilometers east of Kokrajhar railway station, severely damaging a portion of the track. As a precaution, railway authorities suspended train operations on both up and down lines, leading to major disruptions.
Several trains were stranded at various stations, causing inconvenience to passengers. Security forces, railway officials, and bomb disposal squads immediately rushed to the site, cordoning off the area and launching a detailed investigation into the incident.
