Gandhi Jayanti Celebrated with Cleanliness Drive by RMC Guwahati

Guwahati: On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Guwahati organized a successful event as part of the “Swachata hi Seva” campaign. The event included a cleanliness drive, a cyclothon rally, and a plantation program. Dr. Sanjay O’Neill Shaw, Scientist-F, flagged off the Cyclothon, promoting bicycles as a pollution-free transport option.

RMC officials, locals, and volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive, working to maintain a clean environment. The plantation program took place at St. Clare’s Convent High School in Borjhar, where saplings were planted. Sr. R. Malar Kodi, Principal of the school, welcomed the RMC team and expressed her gratitude for the initiative.

Sailen Saikia, Tapan Kumar Borah, and other officials highlighted Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of cleanliness, encouraging ongoing efforts for a cleaner and greener Guwahati.
