Guwahati: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), North Eastern Region, organised an interactive session on the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) at the Assam Administrative Staff College, Guwahati, on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by Alok Chandra, Senior Labour and Employment Advisor, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
In his address, Chandra highlighted the importance of PM-VBRY in boosting employment-led growth and supporting the vision of a developed India. He also stressed the Government’s focus on social security for all organised sector workers through EPFO’s digital and outreach programmes.
The session aimed to raise awareness about PM-VBRY’s benefits for employers and employees, focusing on job creation and the formalisation of the workforce.
Informative videos were screened on topics such as the PM-VBRY scheme overview, UAN activation via face authentication and the UMANG App, and employer registration procedures.
Among the dignitaries present were S. K. Jha, Additional Central PF Commissioner (NER); Gaurav Srivastava, Regional PF Commissioner-I, Guwahati; Biswajit Chakraborty, Director, FICCI; Narendra Shah, MD, AIIDC; and T. John Jugli, Regional PF Commissioner-I, EPFO Zonal Office.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion, where employers and employees shared queries and feedback related to the scheme and EPFO services.
