Kokrajhar: The Durand Cup trophy display ceremony took place today at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar, bringing excitement and pride to the local people. The event showcased the three main trophies of the 134th Indian Oil Durand Cup — the Durand Cup, the Shimla Trophy, and the President’s Cup.
Assam Sports Minister Nandita Gorlosa attended the event as the Chief Guest. She spoke about the importance of sports and how the Durand Cup is helping promote football and youth talent in Assam.
Senior Army officials also joined the event. These included Major General H.S. Bajaj, Major General Rajesh Arun Moghe, and Major General Rohin Bawa, who said the Indian Army is proud to support and organise this historic football tournament. Their presence showed the strong connection between the Army and the people.
This is the third year Kokrajhar is hosting Durand Cup matches. This year, the SAI Stadium will host six matches, making Kokrajhar an important city in Indian football.

The Opening Ceremony in Kokrajhar will take place on July 27, 2025, at the SAI Stadium. The first match will be between ITBP Football Team and Karbi Anglong Morning Star FC. A big crowd is expected, and the event will feature local culture and army discipline, making it a grand start to the tournament.
