Guwahati: Assam-based politician Dulu Ahmed has filed a formal complaint with Singapore Police seeking a probe into the death of singer Zubeen Garg.
In a social media post, Ahmed stated that the investigation being conducted by the CID-SIT in Assam should also be carried out simultaneously in Singapore, focusing on 11 Non-Resident Assamese (NRAs) who were present in the country at the time of the incident.
Ahmed said he visited the Central Police Divisional Headquarters in Singapore at 9 a.m. (6:30 a.m. IST) on Wednessday to discuss the matter and later filed a complaint at the Marina Bay Neighbourhood Police Centre (NPC).
He added that the Singapore Police would review the legal aspects of his submission before formally registering the complaint.
The move comes amid growing public demand for justice in the high-profile case following Zubeen Garg’s death in Singapore on September 19.
