Guwahati: As the countdown begins for the 2026 Assam Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started gearing up with a major reshuffle in its state leadership.
BJP Assam president and MP Dilip Saikia on Thursday announced a new set of office bearers for the state committee. The appointments are part of the party’s strategy to strengthen its organizational structure and prepare for the crucial upcoming elections.
A total of ten vice presidents have been named: Pulak Gohain, Parimal Suklabaidya, Tapan Kumar Gogoi, Rekha Rani Das Boro, Aparajita Bhuyan, Moon Swarnakar, Ashok Bhattarai, Dr. Juri Sharma Bordoloi, Manoj Baruah, and Ratna Singh.
The party has also appointed four general secretaries – Diplu Ranjan Sharma, Pallab Lochan Das, Rituparna Baruah, and Anup Barman – to handle key responsibilities.
Additionally, ten secretaries have been appointed, showing a mix of experienced and young faces: Lakhya Konwar, Lakshinath Tacha, Bismita Gogoi, Monalisha Koch, Abhijit Kumar Nath, Ratul Sharma, Mahesh Deori, Siddhanku Ankur Baruah, Nabarun Burhagohain, and Bitupan Doley.

- Treasurer: Rajkumar Sharma
- Joint Treasurer: Narayan Deka
- Office Secretary: Sushanta Biswas
- Social Media In-charge: Biswajit Khaound
- IT In-charge: Mriganka Talukdar
- Chief Spokesperson: Kishore Upadhyay
- Media Convenor: Rupam Goswami
- Office In-charge: Anirban Goswami
Party president Dilip Saikia emphasized that special importance has been given to ensure geographical representation across Assam and inclusion of different ethnic communities in selection of leadership for the state committee.
He further added that within the next 10 days, the party will also announce the names of presidents for eight frontal organisations.
