Guwahati: Assam Down Town University (AdtU) successfully hosted a swimming championship today, featuring eight events for boys and girls. The event saw participation from numerous young swimmers, who competed in categories such as backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke, and freestyle.
The championship was attended by several distinguished guests, including Subudh Malla Baruah, Chairman of the Asian Sports Journalist Association, International Gold Medalist Bikash Boruah, Sports Journalist Rupak Baisya, and Rajeeb Das, a renowned sports organizer.
Winners in various categories included Nibir Nitin Krow and Antara Aziza, who both secured first place in their respective backstroke events. The freestyle events were dominated by Nahar Das and Reema Limbu, who also took home first-place honors.
An official from AdtU emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting sports, stating, “We believe that events like these are crucial in building character, discipline, and camaraderie among students.”
